The HBOS Foundation provides grants via the Community Programme - this is for small and underfunded charities who want to help disadvantaged people play a fuller role in the community.

 

The Nationwide Foundation provides grants for charities dealing with financial exclusion, housing issues and homelessness. One off grants of up to £5,000 are available for charities with incomes below £500k.

 

The Friends Provident Foundation makes grants of up to £200,000 to not-for-profit organisations for projects that address financial exclusion within disadvantaged communities.

 

Awards For All provide small lottery grants (up to £10K) to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.

 

The Santander Foundation give grants up to £10K if theres a branch nearby for education and training or financial capability.

 

The MSE Charity provides grants to charities that want to fund an educational project that informs people about consumer or debt issues.

 

The Tudor Trust is a grant-making trust which supports organisations that address the social, emotional and financial needs of people at the margins of society.

 

The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation awards grants to charities or not-for-profit organisations which work with residents of urban areas that are classified as being in the lowest 20% of the Indices of Multiple Deprivation. For further information see the website.

 

The Peoples Million 2010 has launched. Voluntary and community organisations, schools and local authorities are all eligible to apply for between £20,000 and £50,000. The deadline for applications is noon on 14 May 2010.

 

Reaching Communities will continue to make awards between £10,000 and £500,000 for up to five years. Funding is for projects that respond to needs identified by communities, and those that fund projects that help those most in need including those people or groups who are hard to reach. Bids that will help enable the following are encouraged:

  • people having better chances in life, including being able to get better access to training and development to improve their life skills
  • strong communities, with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems
  • improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy
  • healthier and more active people and communities.
